If a credit report error is not corrected after the initial dispute is sent, unfortunately, many consumers will either give up and live with the error still on their credit report, or they will continue to send additional disputes, frustrating themselves and wasting time and money.
Alabama consumers do not need to be bullied by arrogant creditors or credit reporting agencies. If the consumer has sent their dispute via certified mail, kept a copy of the dispute letter, including the certified mail return receipt, and kept a copy of the investigation results from the credit reporting agency, then there is not need to continue to dispute the error ad nauseam. The creditor and credit reporting agency have been given an opportunity to correct the error but refused.
At this point, usually filing a lawsuit against the creditor and/or credit reporting agency is the only thing that will get the attention of the creditor and credit reporting agency.
